Desire to fit combination shocks for the Elan; 1 ° adjustable for ride height and 2 ° hardness adjustment for comfortable use on the road, so no real competition
On the different sales sites here it's complicated to choose under different brands of manufacturer knowing that I need the set combined with these springs
Knows why a shared opinion would be interesting by choice
of each one

TTR does various sets of adjustable shock absorbers and springs, as do Kelvedon Motors and SJ Sportcars.

I've used TTR on Road/Track car and SJS allow bodies set on road a car and both were fine, with good ride.

Prior to above I've always fitted Koni Red or Yellows great quality, adjustable bump but set spring height.

On my 26R I fitted the TTR Koni race spec shock absorbers we wanted to have ability to fine tune the bump and rebound adjustment as ours tracks are less than billiard datable smooth here in Australia!

I think the original Armstrong dampers suited an Elan really well, but they are no longer manufactured. Koni's were available at the time and, at least in my opinion, offered better performance. Sadly the Armstrong's can't be rebuilt, but the Koni's can.

I should add that I have two Elan's on rebuilt red classic Koni's and one Elan on TTR fast road dampers. The Koni dampers were rebuilt by Ian Gardiner Racing, he's ex-F1, a Koni agent and generally a good guy.

The Koni's do their job really well, they offer excellent ride quality. The TTR springs and dampers lower the car and the ride is firmer, but the cornering ability is better and the high speed stability is remarkable.

I have a set of rebuilt Koni dampers which I thought I wanted to put onto my S3, but I just can't bring myself to do it.
