Tyres

Recently bought a +2 130/4 and it has some Goodyear Club 165/80/13 made in South Africa on it
I can't believe a tyre with tread on it can be so bad at slow speeds in the wet
You would think they were slicks
They have to go or I can only drive it when I know it's going to be dry all day not easy
Any thoughts and recommendations
Cost not a consideration as it's an accident waiting to happen

Have a look at Longstone tyre website if cost is not a consideration and you want something built like original tyres but with modern compounds.

Hello, it might be worth looking at The Blockley Tyre Company. They list a 165/80/13 H rated tyre.

Your tyres could be old and hard. Have you checked the dates on them? Over 5 years means replace soon. Sounds as if now would be better.

When I bought my Elan 2 years ago I found the same issue, it was lethal in the wet. The tyres were so old that they were not date stamped (20th century) so I changed them immediately and the car was transformed.

Just fitted Michelin XAS to my S3 and they are absolutely fantastic. As others have said, take a look at Longstone Tyres.

Hi

Three times I have had to change tyres due to age when only half worn.
The set I have on now will soon be changed as they are from 2011
