Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

Just put my wheels in for refurbishment for my plus 2 and the specialist are not sure what metal or composition they are made from?

Presumably they are an aluminium base but are there any other additions such as magnesium.

any advice would be appreciated as i/they don't want to make any mistakes.

Which wheels have you got? You don’t appear yo say.

As you say "presumably aluminium base" I imagine you are talking about alloy wheels rather than steel. According to the link below it's conventional LM25 casting aluminium alloy:
