Good morning gentlemen.

Any tips or coaching on sorting out / refreshing / maintenance on the rear brakes to pass along?

I need to install new axles, do this all as one job?

Good morning. I can take one later but I was trying, and apparently failing, at a pithy question about what a newbie needs to know about the rear brake rotor set up.

Very helpful to have a manual as there are a few pitfalls and tricks,
particularly with the handbrake (mine hasn't worked for 25 years)

I got the pistons out of my rear calipers, as a reminder this car sat since the early 90s. I sent the calipers off to John Kubha for servicing, he did a great job on my engine and the axles he provided are a work of art.

I’ll spend some more time digging through prior discussions but figure that now is the time touch the rotors and be done with them.

The short answer is yes - if installing new drive shafts it makes sense to sort the rear brakes at the same time.
Disc run out is critical and can be affected by the true ness of the outer drive shaft spider.
ACorrect adjustment of the hand brake pads is essential and not actually that difficult when one realises that the short little bars behind the pads are return springs.
