Nylocs or half nuts

Which is better for the outboard lower wishbone to strut bolts - a standard nyloc or two half nuts locked together - either solution with a spring washer.
I don't have space for full nuts and can't easily use thread lock unless it is at the casting end because of the lack of space.
Whats the best way of ensuring that the bolts don't loosen (without welding)?

When you say you don't have room for a full nut is that because you are trying to put it on the outside?
The nut should be on inside because clearance to wheel rim is limited and the bolt is a special with half height head.

I use a Nyloc nut with a plain washer.

part number 29 and 30


Note the bolts holding the lower arm to the chassis too, Number 31. . Their heads are inwards, otherwise you will not be able to remove the lower arms without taking the body off.

The parts list confirms washer and nyloc fixing.
It is easy to forget the inner bolt orientation when building up a bare chassis.

The two bolts are different lengths and it is critical not to get the wrong but I can't remember which is the longer - forward or rear!

The longer bolt goes to the rear.
Should be clear from looking at the strut.

Often the centre of the metalastic bush works it's way into the alloy housing, a washer place between the bush and aluminium provides a new and better bearing surface.
Space to do this can be gained if the new bush is offset when fitted to the wishbone.
