Hot rear discs

"Are the pads the wrong way around? The cutoff corner should line up with edge of the disc?"

Not many of the replacement pads have the " cutoff corner" these days..

Hadn?t noticed there might be a wrong way round! Will have another look.

When the Elan was my only car (back in the 80s) I just used to park in gear and just tighten up the pads for the MOT.

Still do that anyway on all my cars since I had one roll back down my drive 30 years ago!

Ha! I had exactly the same thing happen. I didn?t know until someone knocked on the door asking if I owned the car that was blocking the road. That?s when I started to take more of an interest in the handbrake.
