Sorry, I can't find this after searching.(nor in Workshop Manual)
The nut that compresses the rubber at the top chassis mount, and then has a second lock nut applied, torque setting please? ( These are TTR double adjustables but I imagine it's the same for any rubber top mounted shock)

I don't think there is a specific torque figure for this and common sense suggests that it would depend on the hardness of the bushes. We usually just tighten them until the rubber just slightly compresses against the washer then check there is no vertical or horizontal movement of the threaded stud detectable. Then apply the lock nut, holding the fixing nut in its current position. Reassemble the rest of the suspension then with the suspension on full droop, apply leverage under the wheel and check for no independent movement of the shock mounting. If you tighten the nuts down too much the bushes will distort and fail quite quickly.

Thank you Nigel.
It was this 'common sense' approach I had adopted and then thought there must be a black and white answer, which there appears not to be.
I'd best get your old car on the road!!

The TTRs I just installed have a Nyloc nut instead of two plain nuts. I tightened it until one or two threads had come out past the nylon insert, to be sure that it did its job. This put a slight compression on the rubber so I think it worked out OK.
