I wish to replace my ageing rear shocks and fit adjustable ones. I am interested to know what the minimum amount of disassembly is required to remove the shocks bearing in mind my car is fitted with sliding spline solid drive shafts. I am thinking of also fitting a pair of Sue Millers CV driveshafts. Can anyone recommend a good adjustable shock absorber that I can use with these driveshafts as I am not sure whether they require limited drop shocks?

if you check the shop manual, it should give you a pretty good picture of what's all involved...

I may be wrong but I think most of the inserts available now come as limited travel.

Assuming your car is an Elan and not a Plus 2 the CV shafts from Sue definitely need droop limitation. About 25mm less than original. I did 30mm to be on the safe side.
They are made by Kelvedon who were very helpful on the phone.
