Front suspension Rubbers

Hi , my front suspension was a few millimetres different from left to right so I have ordered new rubbers , my question is should there be washers between the rubbers and the chassis upright ?

I have seen two diagrams , one shows a large washer under the lower rubber and washers both sides of the upper rubber , whilst the other diagram shows only washers below the lower rubber and above the upper rubber.

I think for me a washer under the lower rubber and a washer above the top rubber.
I've just checked on my Sprint that had a chassis change chez Miles Wilkins so i will not question it.

I assume we are talking about the top shock mount ? If so, no washers between rubber & chassis, just the thick dished washers above the top & below the bottom rubbers. The top rubber should have a spigot which locates in the chassis to prevent the stud from being able to contact the chassis.

Regards, Tim

Just a quick look this is the best reference I could see! Pic I posted of shock was fitted by
? Mr Spyder ? on chassis change.
I like to see the spread of rubber bounded by a cup washer of some sort.

The shock in your photo is not for a Lotus. Is it a coil over shock :?

Perhaps Steve would tell us the make of shock absorber he has as different manufactures have their own preferred method of mounting/isolation.
My present setup.
