Steering rack grease access

Hi , looking at my steering rack I can't see there's enough room to fit a grease nipple as the body looks quite close at that point. Do you need to cut away the body to gain access , or should the rack be removed to inject the 5 pumps of greaes refered to in section O of the manual.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

There was no grease fitting on mine. Way back when I solved it this way. Cut an access hole (about 2" dia) thru the front pan directly above the steering box, remove the plug in the cap and replace with a grease fitting, mine has a ground wire connection there - keep it.

I did that 50 years ago - good memory huh!!
