In USA you can get Vredestein Sprint 165R 13 from Coker Tire. I have 155R 13 on my Elan, and am very pleased.

Thank you all for your replies.

Having had a word with my local tyre guy, he said that there was plenty of tread left and just needed a clean up of the bead of the rims to stop the leak from the tyre.

Does anyone know if there is a use by date on tyres i.e. for the MOT?
I have no date stamp on my tyres and are still in good order with out any visible signs of perishing and still have 6mm of tread on them.
They are Goodyear Grand Prix S's and in great order.
I know they are probably not in the prime of their life, but is that any reason to get rid of them.
After all I haven't got rid of my parents yet and they're older than these tyre's (Mind you I'm not expecting them to do 120 mph up the road)

Cheers Rich

Any tyre more than six years old begins to be suspect. After ten years from date of manufacture they should be scrapped. There is plenty of research and information on the internet to show how dangerous old tyre can be. The materials degrade with time and a tyre that looks perfect on the outside can still delaminate - particularly at speed. I did a good bit of research on this topic in a former job.

You should be able to find a date code on your tyres. See this page from Kwikfit https://www.kwik-fit.com/tyres/information/tyre-age and this from Continental http://www.tyresforlife.co.uk/www/tyres_for_life_uk_en/themes/tyre-information/how-old-are-your-tyres-en.html
