Hello

Can anyone please advise me the correct toe-in for a standard Elan...in minutes, to conform to the dimensions used in modern computerised equipment at my tyre dealer ?

Many thanks,
Donald

My manual shows 1/16" (.0625) - 3/16" (.1875) of toe in. Those numbers on my Dunlop Gauge equate to about 16 to 48 minutes of angle. Hope this helps.

Many thanks for that, Rob.
Do you know if that is per side or is it 16-48 minutes of angle overall?

A well known Lotus dealer told me that it was 16 minutes overall but then, later on, another source said it should be 16 minutes per side making 32 minutes overall.
I had my tyre dealer set it at 16 minutes overall...do you think this is acceptable and that I should leave it as is, or have it reset to 32 minutes overall?

Donald

My guess is that it is overall, in the 70's the only tracking Tools available were the dunlop optical guages (I am the proud owner of a set) 4 Wheel alignment with individual toe in angles for each Wheel had not yet appeared on the scene.

Generally, the listed amounts are for overall. Try using the middle of the two distances. A 1/8" toe should have the car tracking just fine.
