Lotus Elan and Lotus Elan Plus 2 Forums

Apologies for another tyre thread, I have waded through the archives and can see that there is plenty of advice out there but here goes:-

My +2 has standard 13" lotus alloys, standard suspension, standard bodywork.
I'm aware of the rolling circumference differences between 1658013 and 1757013 and the difficulty / cost of source the former in H speed rating.

H rated 1757013 Uniroyals. I have used this exact tyre (albeit a much wider lower profile version) on my modern Lexus and found them to be pretty good. Has anyone tried Uniroyals on their +2? At ?40 a corner (not fitted) they look like a pretty good deal.

Does anyone have any views/opinions?

I've the Rain Experts on my Plus 2 and would replace like for like when they wear down.

Both wet & dry grip is fine

What size / speed rating do you have? If it's not the 1658013 did you have any bother with fitting/clearance?

My Rain Experts are 185 x 14 x 60 profile, and would certainly use them again.
