"I'm Spartacus" . . . :?

Must be a UK-ism. Please explain, thank you.

"Who is Sparacus" ? Well, I am but the first person to say it was American; Tony Curtis, then lots, or all, of the other slaves who drive their cars regularly, even in the wet when good tyres are really the most important part of any car.

You`re right, another American, but Tony Curtis was the first to claim he was Spartacus when he wasn`t really. Kirk Douglas only drove his chariot in the dry and anyway, I`m really Spartacus. I might change my user name.

You mean they didn't chariot-race in the wet?

Well, then the metaphor is moot!

I bought a spare spare Vredestein tyre off fleabay given the price was so cheap (about ?32). The seller was mytyres who seem to be a big internet tyre seller. I bought my original set from them directly a couple of years ago as they were one of the few places selling them when I started to look so have no concerns buying from them off ebay.
Tyre arrived without any problems..

Thanks for your update, Carl. I appreciate knowing. If I wasn't 2 years away from getting back on the road, I'd be buying from MyTyres, too

I believe what some people might be worried about is the tyres being "old stock". Wondering how well the ones you have are holding up? Below is some of the text from their ebay auction page:

The Auction:

These are brand new, first quality tyres. They have been properly warehoused and were never mounted. Our quoted auction price is per 4 tyres. Rims and hubcaps are not included - they are shown for display purposes only.
Tyre Codes / Designations:

Speed Index: H: max 130 mph
Additional Code: none
Date of Manufacture: This tyre is not from the current production. However, it was stored properly and is therefore in mint condition.

Does anyone know if the Vredestein Sprints are available in 165/80/13. H rated.

I'm looking for a set of 5 for my plus 2.

Can't see anything currently on ebay.

Thanks,

Dave
