14" tyres

Can anyone suggest some possible tyres for 14 x 5.5 wheels?

I bought some new Minilites for my +2 a few years ago and now want to fit them up with tyres.

My existing steel wheels are fitted with 165 x 13 x 70's and the speedo was calibrated for this rolling size. I am not after anything extreme just a good well mannered road tyre which looks 'right' and is available.

I'm a big fan of Toyo - not sure if they have a suitable version in 14" :?:

Thanks for any suggestions

Cheers

Jon

Cotinental in 175/60 x 14" may fit OK
I have them on 6J x 14" rims on my S4 Elan & they work pretty well.
I have been recommended a Yokohama in that size but can't recall which particular one it is; not much choice anyway :?

Cheers

I did some reading around and came to the conclusion that Yoko Advan 460 was the one to go for (on the basis that its an evolution of the very popular 520 and 539, I think), although failing that the Falken ZE914 sounded ok (its a lighter version of the 912, which was already quite sporty). I guess that a light tyre will suit the car best, but I can't find comparable tyre weights anywhere.
I think 185/60/R14 is the size everyone seems to go for, although I have seen a car on 185/65/R14 too.

Let us know how you get on please!

Chaps,

I ended up fitting Pirelli Cinturato P4's - 14 x 70 x 175. They look nice but have not driven the car yet.

Will report further after first road test.
