Hello.
I intend to do the monte carlo historic rallye in january 2014.
I will take off my precious michelin xas from my steel wheels.
I need a set of wheels with snow tyres. And i need a spare set with spikes in case of icy roads.
I has also to think what i will do of that extra set after the rallye...
Would 26r wheels look good on a elan sprint s4 or bad taste? Otherwise should i get minilites or another set of steel wheels?
I ca?t make up my mind

But 26R wheels won't fit your hubs? 26R wheels have 4 pins in each wheel, where your Sprint has 5 holes to mate to pins fixed in the hubs.

Darn... So now choice is restricted down to steel repro or the minilite design...

Minilites or PanaSports look good, take a look at Spyderfan's car.

I think TTR manufactures a 26R style wheel that doesn't require the original phosphor bronze hub, but I can't remember if it's for bolt on wheels or KO's.

I wonder the weight differences between my steel wheels, minilite and 26 r repro? Always interesting to know for unsprung weight.
If the 26r repro in alloy are not cheap ... What should i say about the light spiners price! Wow
And where could i find steel wheels similar as my originals?

The minilite price is very reasonable.
You can buy 4 minilites for the price of one 26R spinner...

Not any direct help to you, but I was going through old invoices today and found one from the early 70's when I bought 4 Lotus steel wheels.
They cost all of ?4 each including tax !

I think that price is for a set of 4, 26R style spinners.
Still expensive in comparison to the Minilites,

Ok I need to calm down. Putting altogether a budget for the MonteCarlo is a lot of money.
So I will go for a set of 4 steel wheels to stay simple and cheap...
Do they still exist new? or do I need to buy second hands?
