Having just had my rack reconditioned , it seems a little long!! (As recent posts in the archives)
Can anyone give me the dimension from end of tie rod to end of tie rod on a rack that is off the car?

Thanks but its the complete end to end measurement ie the end of one tie rod to the end of the other tie rod on the other side on an assembled rack
The rack bar has been replaced and I want to check it is as original

OK now I am confused
I have 39.25 inches and too much toe out? (measured on the discs with the suspension in droop)

Hold on Gary , the first picture shows about 135mm up to the ball , second picture shows 160mm up to ball, are you trying to confuse us?

OK, I screwed up. I looked a a pair of racks and one had and end cut so I grabbed the other and I forgot that I had reinstalled a pair of spitfire iiner tie rod ends on it to keep all of the other pars in one location. anyway here is a 3rd rack that should be correct. It looks like 39 inches, give Brian Buckland a call and ask him, He did an article for the Club Lotus new letter a while ago and may be able to email you a copy of it.
