Lockheed servo mounting

Hi

I have been looking at how to mount my Lockheed servo and cant decide for the best, so I was hoping someone on here could post pictures showing how they mounted theirs please :)

I have been looking back through some of the pictures on here and there seems to be at least two different ways of positioning it and most of the pictures are of the engine bay in general so it is difficult to see any detail.

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks,

Chris.

Hi Chris,

Do these help?

Taken before complete stripping of the shell - hence the presence of a little dust in the engine bay!!!

Hi Chris,

How about these? Not specifically of the servo but you can kind of see the bracket arrangement which, I think, utilises the original bracket with a plate to extend to the third mounting pin:

servo2.jpg and

The orientation of the servo and the air valve is important, as detailed in this pdf:

I assume your car has a single circuit brake system. My U.S. version +2 with the dual circuit brake system was a bit of a problem as the "new" Lockheed boosters are larger than the Girling units. While I have seen two Lockheed boosters mounted on the LH side as were the Girling, I feel it is too tight and relocated one booster in the nose.

Best place to mount the servo is on the garage wall!

Plenty of posts on this forum about running with unboosted brakes.

Hi Chris how is the rebuild going--well I hope
Mine is progressing slowly as is the way with these things.
I am putting the Lockheed servo in the nose in the location where it was when I got the car.
I have refurbished the unit and mounted it according to the Lockheed instruction which I picked up from another post earlier.

I have attached a couple of pictures and the Lockheed assembly instruction

Hope they help best of luck

Bob

Hi, Lads,

Thank you for the pics, and the suggestions Gerry 8) .

The servo is now mounted similar to Andy's, a good reference as mine has the same relays and fuses as yours.

Bob,

Rebuild hit a slow patch earlier in the year, the wife wanted the hall decorating and it now has three floors  , lost almost six months to that. Going well now, apart from various oil leaks from the gearbox forcing me to have the engine out, hopefully thats now sorted.

Chris.
