solid rack clamps

Are these worth fitting - do they make any meaningful difference to steering feel or is it best to stick to the rubber bushed items?

Regards.

I agree with John. I fitted the solid clamps shortly after I replaced the steering column flex joint with an all metal universal. It made my +2 very unpleasant to drive. I went back to the standard rack mounts but retained the steering column u-joint. That combination is entirely acceptable.

Fit the original (Triumph style) clamps with polyurethane bushes. That will avoid the main problem, soft rubber.

For me, they are the way to go.

But then, I have a space frame, wide wheels etc. so what do I know! :)

Try them, if they don't work for you put 'em on ebay.

I never noticed additonal vibrations with solid rack mounts.

Two less pieces of rapidly decaying rubber is OK by me. :D
