Along with the original question, How many Coupes have had their heads hacked off. My April 1970 Coupe 0078E has a body number of 3303 (dymo label- see photo) so I figure around 2300 Coupes or coupe replacement bodies till that point. Maybe Tim can offer a later body number so we can get a total on the maximum and work backwards.

I don't think we shall get there, since I guess a good many body number Dymo tapes were ripped off at some point in the past by owners who didn't know what they were. Also, as far as I know, body numbers were not recorded by Lotus after the Jan 70 introduction of the new VIN system. I have seen no reference to body numbers for any Sprint, for example.
