Polyurethane Front Shock Top Mounts?

Checking out the front suspension in my Plus 2 I can see that both the top and bottom rubber mounts are shot.

I read lots of comments about polyurethane wishbone bushes but has any body had any experience with top and bottom shock absorber mounts?

Are they a worthy replacement or is it best to stick to the original rubber ones?

Thanks

Peter

Peter,

A few months ago I got some new AVO shocks which came with polyurethane mounts. They seem to be very tough and I expect them to last longer than the rubber ones.

Bob,

Thanks for your response, my own past experience with rubber bushes is they do not last long so I will try and source some poly bushes as a replacement.

Kind regards

Peter

Jerry,

Thanks I plan to give TT a call once I have fully stripped the front suspension. I would not be at all surprised if the mounts are just the start.

BTW have you used them and was there any noticable difference to ride height?

Urethane bushes will last for decades over the orig rubber units, "every bush" in my S2 is
urethane... I have only replaced one or two in the twenty five years of hard road use.
You can buy them ready made, or simply buy the rod and machine your own.
If you are real keen, make (machine) your own metal molds and buy the two part pouring packs
and pour your own bushes. I prefer to machine because I can fine tune the bush & the crush tube
required on each set of suspension arms.
