Front Caliper Bolts

PostPost by: innesw » Thu Jul 29, 2010 11:41 am

Hi,
Any ideas on the size and thread of the front caliper bolts on a 73 plus 2S 130/5, I called up steve from SJ this morning and he said they were impossible to source or produce because my car is a later plus 2...

I think the problem is the thread is the same as the rears but the un-threaded part of the bolt is a larger diameter...

Cheers Innes

P.s. lots of progress with rebuild pics and news to follow when I have the time... 8)

Innes,
I think they are 7/16 UNF and they are a sholdered bolt on the later cars. I would try the Triumph people as the +2 brakes are from a GT6. Try Rimmers or Canley.

HI

Got my +2 (+2S130 december 1973) stripped down at the moment so checked the bolt. The threaded part of the bolt looks like 7/16"UNF the diameter on the unthreaded part is 0.473" the bolt length excluding the head is 1.375" The unthreaded part of the bolt is 0.75". Over the last 0.125" of the unthreaded part there is an obvious taped down to the threaded part.

Hope this helps

best of luck

Bob
