Thanks Gerry. I do prefer the idea of a non servo system as it's simpler - the fewer places containing brake fluid the better. I had a close look at the brake pipe that runs to the rear of the car on Sun evening, and can see how to move it to avoid contact with the handbrake cable. So, with that adjustment the whole system is ready to go apart from the servo, which can be put in at the last minute; I've bypassed it with well made flared copper pipes for the moment so it'll probably go through an MOT like that.
