Play in Brake and Clutch Pedals when in use

Hi All Lotus Fans
Happy New Year !!!!! :D where ever you are.

I have just fitted new brake and clutch master cylinders and noticed that there seems to be excessive travel in the pedal movement that seems to diminish the effectiveness of the pedal action upon both clutch and brake systems.

I have replaced the bushes that locate the clevis pin and pedal arm and there still seems to be excessive play in the pedal.

It appears that the holes in the pedal arm seem to be circular and not worn, but seems to be alot of movement where the bush sits within the clevis pin.
Has anyone expereinced this problem and whether there are differing size clevis pins / bushes diameters available that will take up this slack in the pedla????

Any help or information appreciated.

Nico

Nico, I found wear is usually in the push rod itself. The holes where the pin goes through get elongated. To fix, I had washers welded over the holes in the pushrod. Ground down the excess of the washers and...voila! The pin is usually long enough to go through the now newer, wider span of the pushrod 'U'.
