Hi all,
I don't have my car handy at the moment and I don't have any spares to check but what is the bolt size that connects the rear 'A' arm to the hub? The one with the half size head.
7/16"?? CRS!

It just so happens that I will be cutting down the heads on some new bolts for my 66 S2 S/E project tomorrow....

.....and while we are at it,to save me getting cold and wet,as some of you have your A-frames out,what sizes are the bolts (7/16unf) for the inner and outer A frame fixings...

P.S. does one disregard the head when measuring and what is the correct term screw/bolt....as I is not an Ingeneer

On all Bolts/Screws the height of the Head is disregarded except for Countersunk ones where the Head is included.
I was tought the following definitions, (they were the BSI Standard def's) however modern thinking may have changed & one Country may call them one thing another Country something else.

Screw:- With Threads running fully up to under the Head i.e. "Setscrew"
Bolt:- Thread does not extend the full length of the Bolt.

Sorry that I can only answer the trivial part of your question

A point to watch with modern replacement bolts is the excessively long thread they come with if you want the parts you are bolting together to bear on the bolt shank not the thread. I found this problem with some trunnion bolts I ordered based on the original bolt length this resulting in one of the wishbones bearing on the thread, not acceptable IMHO. The supplied just said that's what you get these days its modern thinking. Has anyone else encountered this problem?
