Take a look at the parking brake mechanism in this picture of a page out of a AC Cobra owners manual. Strikingly similar. Wonder where these parts are from? By the way, this manual recently sold on ebay for $500! Why can't we bring in Cobra prices? Our cars were similarly priced when new. Anyway, let's not go down that path now....

Well the rear brakes were supplied by Girling so I guess not exclusive to Lotus. By the way Fiat Dino's use the same handbrake pads....

just a quick question for those that may know,are these the same as jaguar types?

What car supplied the Elan and Elan +2 rear calipers with parking brake?

I was told that they were from a front wheel drive car.

Bob, my guess is that Girling made these rear disk calipers with attached mechanical handbrake levers as a special catalogue item. All the applications I have found that used them were low volume (eg Cobra, Fiat Dino, Elite? Lamborgini, Elans etc.) I don't think they were ever fitted to a "volume" model. As far as front axle applications, the caliper piston diameters are very small. They would only be suitable for a vehicle of around 500kg (at most).

I think they came from a Fiat 2300 if memory serves!
