I purchased a new pair of rod ends at a LOG years ago. A friend of mine was in need of them but when I got them out of the box, I discovered that over the years, the rubber boots had totally disintigrated. Rather than bin a pair of brand new rod ends, I found new rubber boots for them.

Bill, those track rod ends (ball joints) complete with the rubber seal are so cheap I'm surprised anyone is trying to fit a new rubber. Are we talking about the same thing? Post a picture?

Saves on having to realign the toe-in etc if you don't have to unscrew the end off the track rod.
