Is the steering always offset?

I've sat in an original and then driven the Spyder Zetec demonstrator. I never really paid enough attention to the original but the Spyder car's steering wheel "pointed" towards the centre of the car slightly. This was disconcerting and I wondered if they're all like that. Is there anything that can be changed to straighten it?

Mine does, very slightly. I had to go out to the garage to check though so it's not noticable in regular use!

I wonder then if it's a function of the different steering rack employed by Spyder. It was quite noticeable.

Thanks.

Funny that. When I saw this post I went out to look at my +2 which is lurking in the drive. The steering wheel is definately pointing to the outside of the car by quite a few degrees - at a guess around 8 to 10 deg.

Wonder why the spyder one points in the way to the centre?

Hamish.
