Rear hub carrier finishes?

I did a search on the forum to find out how to remove the hubs - very useful earlier posts. Managed to remove one but the other is a right b----r!

Still during the process I got to thinking how to re finish the alloy section on the hub carrier and also the alloy cover on the diff.

I've tried three sample processes so far - glass bead and aluminium oxide in the blast cabinet and finally soda blasting.

None have provided a nice uniform finish however does it matter? or should one prepare with Alu oxide to provide a nice key and then finish with a uniform paint finish? or just leave 'eau naturale'

Hi Richard,

I evened out the finish with aluma-bright and steel wool after media blasting and left both the hub carriier and diff carrier natural ( unpainted) -

other finishes -
rear arms por15 with satin enamel over ( for some reason I decided to kill the gloss ?)
hubs as delivered by TTR
brake caliper un-finished aluminum
emergency brake , grey enamel

Natural water? I suppose these bits do get wet in the rain. Perhaps you mean 'au naturel'. Sorry to be petty.
