Rear hub flange

PostPost by: alaric » Sat Feb 18, 2006 1:37 am

Hi

I've just finished putting one of my rear hubs back together. I had to get a new outboard driveshaft. Instructions from Mattys included lapping the taper for the hub. I wasn't sure what this involved, so haven't done it yet. The flange has not pulled onto the shaft as far as the one on the other side. What's the best way to get this to fit properly so I can be sure that the taper has held?

Thanks in advance.

Sean.

Get some valve gringing paste and lap the two together, when it`s the same grey the length of the taper it`s done ,be sure to remove ALL the grinding paste prior to assembly

Ok. Sounds simple enough - best to ask before damaging something though I've learnt. I have the paste and will have a go.

Thanks.
