Hellol All;
The bushings are frozen in the A arms. I can't get a press on the curvy arms and we tried heating up the arms but no luck yet.
Any crafty solutions out there?
TIA

With a blow-lamp you could burn the rubber out and then with a hacksaw blade carefully split the outer shell????

I normally press out using 2 sockets. One which fits the outer sleeve of the bush and one that fits the bush mounting sleeve on the arm. With the bushes on each side of the arm sleeve you can compress the assembly in a press or large vice and push the bush out into the larger socket.

I used Rohan's method to remove the bushes, recently. Even so, I had to use a little heat as well.
If you do resort to heat, suggest you let everything cool down naturally once the bushes are out ...... don't plunge the arms into water !!
Regards,
Stuart.

Thanks for the advice!
I'll try the two socket method with some heat applied.
Any tips in installing the new bushings?

Phil

Make sure the bore of the mounting sleeve is clean and free of rust or other crud. Smear a very small amount of copper or nickel antisieze inside the bore, this helps it go in and to come out next time. Then press the new bush in with a press or vice. Use a socket to finally seat the bush in the middle of the sleeve.
