Stuck Wishbones

I am in the process of restoring the front end of my 72 +2. Two of the wishbones on the drivers side are proving very idfficult to remove. When I rotate them on the chassis pegs they make a sqeaking sound like the rubber in the bushing is moving rather than the inner metal sleeve of the bushing. I have applied lots of penetrating fluid (gunk) for about 7 days now but unfortunately have note been able to remove them yet.

Any suggestions on what I should try next?

Thanks in advance

Chris

If you can get a puller on the arm you can try to pull it off. If the inner sleeve is seized you will break the rubber and pull the arm and outsleeve off. If you cant get a puller on to the arm you need to drill out or burn out the rubber (taking care not to ignite any of the surrounding body) so you can remove the outer sleeve and arm. Then grind the inner sleeve to split it and remove from the chassis mounting bolt.

I had to do this on my Elan many years ago, easiest if the body if off the chassis as part of a total rebuild.
