Competition Tires

Again, about my '66 S3 SE, if it is to be used for auto slaloms, the choice of suitable tires is very limited. Using the Panasport 5J x 13 knock offs, and staying with the rear Chapman Struts and OEM springs, the only two I have found so far are:
1). Yokohama A539 at 175/60R13 with a Wear Rating of 300. I think it might rub against the strut lower perch. Also, have not checked whether it still is being made currently although it does show up as available. Would have to import from the UK. Interestingly, the 175/50R13 version is imported here into Canada for Minis.
2). Pirelli P7 Corsa Classic Wet at 165/60R13. Probably wear rating of under 200 although I have been told it is not tested for that property. Again available from the UK. It Is promoted as a Competition tire for Classic Event use.
However, I suspect that I still may have to go to coil overs with 2.25 dia springs to ensure good sidewall clearance.
Any experiences with these tires?
