Can one of the members give me the correct ft/lbs torque for all four wheel spinners .

The original mallet referred to in that procedure weighs only around 2 lb ..... with a 10lb hammer you run the risk of overtightening.

Second that idea < i bought one from an american supplier recommended on here - has a leather insert to stop marking the spinner ears and so easy to use with a torque wrench: Also added bonus of no more accidentally bashing the rims with wayward enthusiastic mallet blows:

I bought my knockoff spinner removal tool from RD Enterprises here in the US. The tool has leather to protect your spinners, a socket and a rubber wedge to stop your wheel from spinning-so nice to be precise with the torque using a torque wrench w/o the guess work of the mallet. Also, when your imprecise with a hammer like me, the damage is a lot less!

Hi guys, here is my first attempt, in 2004 attempting to get the correct shape, dipped is a red covering, leather wrapped to make a knockoff tool for my Lotus Elan. This is what turned out to be the final version and is only available with Ray at RD Enterprises who has the last of my Elan tool kits. CA. fire destroyed the shop and all of the equipment to be able to make more Elan tools. Ray and I have extra leathers if needed. The torque settings is 200 to 220. I used 190 and never had a problem coming off or being over tightened. I did loosen them and re tighten every 6 months or so.
Sold my 66 Elan coupe with great regrets.

Sorry to hear Sarto, I've had your tool for about 8 years & never had a wheel come loose, I highly recommend your tool (get one before they are all gone...)
