OK Gents-
After much searching, I'm trying to confirm supplier part numbers for a couple bearings yet. I'm replacing all bearings in the rear- the uprights/wheel bearings and all the final drive bearings. What I'm missing is a part number for the rear wheel INNER bearing (the thicker one, Lotus pn: 036D 6003), and the race/shell for the Pinion bearings (Timken bearing number M88043).
I'm trying to get a consolidated list together so I can order from a local distributor at one time and try to save some shipping cost and part price. I could use an assist please!
Here's what I have:
FRONT: Qty Part Number:
Knock on Wheel Bearings, Outer 2 Timken LM11949 Cone
Knock on Wheel Bearings, Outer 2 Timken LM11910 Cup
Knock on Wheel Bearings, Inner 2 Timken L44649 Cone
Knock on Wheel Bearings, Inner 2 Timken L44610 Cup
REAR:
Knock on Wheel Bearings, Outer 2 SKF or FAG 6206 2RS
Knock on Wheel Bearings, Inner 2 __________________
FINAL DRIVE:
Output shaft bearing (in Diff. case) Bearing 2 SKF 6206-2RS
Differential carrier bearings Bearing 2 Timken LM48548
Shell 2 Timken LM45810
Pinion bearings Bearing 2 Timken M88043
Shell 2 ______________
Very Best,
Bill

Bill,
From the Robinshwaw / Ross book, rear inner bearing equivalents for the issue 18 casting upright are listed as:
SKF 412971B/TN/E101
RHP 37-130PP
Ford 2925E-1225C
Differential - not Timken, but you may be able to cross reference:
Pinion bearing cup SKF K-M88011/15
Pinion bearing race SKF K-M88043/11
Book is 30 years old now, so not sure if these were correct in the first place, or are part number for bearings in production now.
Hope this was of some help.

Tapered roller bearings components are generally refereed to as "cup" the outer race and "cone" the inner race and roller assembly. These terms were used for some of the tapered rollers in the question and should be applied to all the tapered rollers consistently to avoid confusion
I know I replaced the original pinion bearing Timkens with identical new ones in the Elan diff when I rebuilt it but I cant find the reference currently or find the old bearings in my store of reference bearings. i am sure an internet search or this site will find a reference soon.
cheers
Rohan

Thanks guys, that’s a start!
Of course, the cup is what I am referring to, just an attempt to be further specific (yet not, as you point out...!). Rohan, your post from your prior rebuild has already helped me greatly as well.
I’ll keep digging and should be able to find the cup part number once I get mine fully disassembled, I’ll submit what I find.
Cheers!

Bill,
I think I can help with the pinion bearings, another Lotus owner told me to never throw anything away, unfortunately I had already done so before receiving the advice. I have just been out to my garage and have found a box of old bits, it’s late, dark, and I have other things to do. Tomorrow I will check that what I have is what you are after and reply tomorrow, provided nobody else has helped you before.

Bill,
Pinion shaft bearings I removed Timken M88010 (cup) and M88043 (cone)
Replaced with FAG 88010 (cup) and 88043 (cone)
Crown wheel carrier bearings I removed KOYO LM48510 (cup) and LM48548 (cone)
Replaced with Timken LM48510 (cup) and LM48548 (cone)
When you buy new bearings always buy a reputable brand. The savings of cheap bearing are nothing compared to the work involved when you have to replace a cheap bearing after only a few miles.
I think I am correct in saying that bearing numbers are now standardised, so any manufacturer or stockist will be able to supply what you need.
The rear hub bearing ( the wide one) I cannot find, I must have binned it, but when you remove this bearing it will have numbers on it that your bearing supplier should then be able to help you with.
Hope this helps,
Richard Hawkins
