Fuel pump

I am just completing rebuild of my +2S/130, engine has fired up and runs sweetly, however....Previous owner had fitted a Facet fuel pump and it sounds like a bag of spanners, apparently they are notoriously noisy. Does anybody know of a quieter alternative? The pump is mounted at the tank end, so any replacement would need to be a 'pusher' not a 'puller'. Thanks. Bob

I just installed a HUCO pump (originally HÜCO), very very pleased. It is suction type, they have a push type also, but with higher psi.
Google
site:lotuselan.net fuel pump huco
And you will find quite positive comments on HUCO. Someone said that suction type could be placed in the boot.

If you have the Facet "square block" variety, then they are notoriously noisy.
Another alternative is the Facet cylindrical, reciprocating pump, Silver or Red Top. Much quieter.

Best of all, if you can find one, a Mitsuba such as this :-
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/mitsuba-elec ... 2749.l2649
Used by the Ford Works Rally teams for years on their Escort Rally cars, they have been called the best of the best.
I bought one in preparation to fit to my Elan last month, s/h for £60.
I have one on my Alfa Giulia twincam, and that particular one is at least 30 years old, I took it off a Cobra 289 clone I had in the early 90's, and it has been on most of my cars ever since. Still works like new.
