Cleaning Carbs

Hi all

I have a pair of carbs that are very sooty and need a strip down and a good clean.
What’s the best way to attack this? An ultrasonic cleaner, a parts washer ? They aren’t for an Elan and have nooks and crannies that tools and brushes wont easily get to.
All thoughts gratefully appreciated.
Thanks
Gavin

Ultrasonic with a good decreaser/cleaner worked well for me. Be sure to blow out the fuel and air circuits/paths to ensure no blockage after done.

As you're in the UK, I would recommend "I cleanz machines" (https://www.icmhome.org.uk/). They charge £30 per card for ultrasonic cleaning in a tank far larger than you could feasibly use at home, then another £10 for vapour blasting which leaves the carbs with a satin finish and looking like new. I've used them a couple of times with great results.
