just for those who have longer trumpets (on my s3 elan they are 75 mil) : this type of gauge/meter is too long! sandy

Been using one for years. Very useful.

The right angle adaptor makes it usable in places with limited clearance from the trumpet to the engine bay sides

Yes, I have to use the elbow to fit in the trumpet, then attach the gauge, otherwise the gauge won't fit.
I use at tickover and 3000 revs.

Very useful piece of kit.

Currently, the best tool for the job.

Does that adapter work with Strombergs? I've had a Synchrometer for years, but ended up buying a Uni-Syn after picking up my Elan since I wasn't aware that adapter exists. Although the Uni-Syn works fine, I prefer the Synchrometer.

I've often wondered about the effect these 'snail' devices have on the vacuum signal when placed onto the inlet/trumpet as opposed to one which reads in the actual airstream?

Perhaps it doesn't matter though as you are looking for a relative reading between barrels rather that an actual reading?

Regardless, I use a Morgan carbtune which enables each barrel to be viewed simultaneously and makes setting up so simple even I can manage it

The small brass screw next to the large brass screw of the progression holes
