The reason the Bolt on K&N interests me is because at some point i want to fit an alloy radiator and most are too big for the stock style air box set up. I get that they are very much for the dyno (as soon as the bonnet goes on they use air that has passed through the rad so less than ideal)

Your backplate is not an original Lotus item. It is an aftermarket air box intended to use Jaguar XJ6 air filters. I had one on my +2 many years ago. They do not have any provision for a cold air feed from the nose.

Ahaa! Thank you, I knew somebody here would recognise it.

It is in beautiful condition now and probably very valuable-who would like it? :)
