I have a pair of Weber DCOE 40 151's ,and a pair of K@N air filters.Car is a 1968 plus 2.

I have the original throttle cable.

It seems that I will need a linkage to connect the cable to the carbs.

I'm not sure why this is the case,and what linkage I need.I can see several different types on Eurocarbs website.

The guy who rebuilt the carbs said he preferred a Magard linkage,but these are no longer available.

Not sure if there is a question here but for my dual 45 DCOE setup I'm using the linkage sold by RD Enterprises here in the states. It appears to very well made and not as clunky looking as the old Magards. I've attached a picture as fitted to my Europa.

Really,I'm not clear in my mind why these linkages are needed in the first place?

I can see some cars with them,and some without.

They don't seem to be an original fitment.

If they are needed there seem to be several different alternative layouts,and again I'm not clear on my options.

It all depends on if you are going to keep the K&N's or put the original air box back on. With the K&N's you will need something like a Magards as the original air box has a bracket on the back to take the throttle cable.
I would have thought QED have something if you are keeping the K&N's. One of the usual suspects Matty, SueM or SJS should be able to help if you are going back to original.

K&N's are quite noisy but it depends what you want from the car.

thanks for your reply.

The Magard type linkages do seem to be a lot of ironmongery to replace a simple bracket.

I would prefer the original type air intake to feed cold air into the engine,so will head that way.The K@N's came to me by chance.

The throttle levers on my carbs are the wrong type,and foul the manifold "bridge" between 2 and 3.

Looking on Webcons site,I think the ones I need are 4504 800 700

and 4504 800 500.

Can anyone confirm that is correct?

got 5mm thick spacer plates with an O ring each side.

I can't help with weber part no's but I'll take some pics of the linkage parts tomorrow to give you some idea of size.
I should also say that it is not unheard of to have to cut some clearance in the webs between the chokes when fitting an after market throttle linkage.

Here some pics of the levers. Unfortunately I had forgotten that I had modified the one that takes the cable barrel. It was 35 years ago and I can't remember why.

I think I can order the ones I need now.

Best price I can see is on ebay from Fast Road Cars.

They don't do the barrel,but Eurocarb do.

For the barrel I just picked up some brass screw cable ends from the auto shop and adjusted the holes through it with a drill. Couldn't easily find one her in the US.

What are they please- I don't quite get your description. Which shop?
Another lost Brit.

Listed as "Help/Cable stop clamps assortment" doorman 03336 from most chain auto stores.

Largest one is snug fit in the standard lever setup, I just used drill to increase the whole diameter. One side to hold casing, one just big enough to slip the cable end through.
