Agreed Rohan, - Besides, I find bolts get a bit tight to do up, and you get a clearer witness mark with a tap.

We engineers always get it right

1/2"-20 is the port size on the mechanical pump and fuel loom end. I feel safer using Gates latest fuel hose (vapor barrier) rather than unknown internal hose in braided steel looms and use metal pinch clamps for a neat appearance and security. You can visually inspect the hose for deterioration and replace as needed and it's the latest type for all types of fuels now in use.

Personally I did as Jeff suggested and created new hoses for my car using good quality Goodyear 30R09 hose.
One other thing I did was to place the hose in a fiber glass heat shield, in the hope that it will give a decent level of fire protection to the hose and stop a small fire turning into a bigger one. It does have the disadvantage of covering the fuel lines so it become harder to check its condition.
I did draft quite a few notes on the +2 fuel system that I should probably upload here.

1/2" x 20 UNF it is then!
Thanks everso for all the answers and suggestions, all noted.
I've got Earls working on a solution for me.
Many thanks to all who assisted.

Phil.

Gents,
Just to close this one out -
The Male ended fitting that I've been searching for is an 1/2" UNF 20 TPI, JIC fitting, that is with a 37 degree olive / taper.
I managed to source one through Fleabay with a tapered 8mm barbed hose fitting on the other side, cost about ?4.00.
So I can screw the JIC end into the braided Webber hose, and the new 8mm I.D. Braided Stainless steel fuel line into the barbed end, with jubilee clip fastener.
Job, jobbed !
Regards,
Phil.
