What Chokes and Jets

PostPost by: gwiz22 » Mon Jun 03, 2013 9:14 pm

I have recently re-built my Plus 2's engine to the following spec:

1760cc 711 block bored to 85mm
10.7:1 compression ratio
QED 420 Cams
Sprint valves

At the moment the Dellorto 40 DHLA's are choked and jetted for big valve Sprint spec. Has anyone built the same spec engine and gone through the rechoke and jetting process and achieved a successful outcome.

I've read the book titled "How To Build And Tune Weber And Dellorto Carburettors" and using their guidelines come up with the following starting point for chokes and jets:

Chokes 35mm
Main Jet 140
Air Corrector Jet 190
Idle Jet 50
Idle Jet Holder 7850-2
Emulsion Tube 7772.5

I would be grateful any comments from anyone with expertise in this area.

Many Thanks
Graham

No personal recommendations on jetting for this spec but the guys at Yahoo Groups sidedraf_central - http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/sidedraft_central/ - will certainly have an opinion.

Best of luck,
Peter

I think you're about ready for some 45 DHLAs.
