Cliveyboy Air filter kit

I've got a Plus 2 and I'm considering buying the Cliveyboy K+N kit, hopefully for a slight increase in performance. I currently have the original setup with the dounghnut shaped filter in the canister in the nose. I have a full width radiator fitted and since I've had that I've not overheated. So before I spend the money can anyone advise of what other advantages the kit has apart from allowing more air to get to the radiator? Will I notice an increase in performance, I've read the engine can rev more freely once the kit is fitted.

Thanks,

Pete

Yes the engine on my old +2 defiinately reved more freely after I installed the kit. Which I suppose must mean an increase in performance. The ducting is really nice as well.
I have a full set of Cliveyboy products ready to fit on my Elan S4 , Air filter, radiator, twin fans, thermostat housing, radiator brackets and silicone hoses! :D
I would recommend the kit without hesitation.

You can achieve exactly the same (& at much lower cost) by buying a simple cone filter which has the same size throat as the standard trunking. Just fit it onto the end of the existing trunking with a suitable sized jubilee clamp.

The general idea is very sound. The filter element just needs to be cleaned at least once a year, & the placement of the cone intake works very well. Cool air taken directly from the nose is best, & a good quality cone filter provides significantly better air flow into the standard air box when compared to the standard air filter arrangement.

I've had this set up for many years on a circa 150bhp engine, but of course you need to ensure that what goes in efficiently, also goes out efficiently i.e. is not strangled by the standard manifold / exhaust system

Whether it improves cooling ....... perhaps with standard radiators ........?
