Apparently neither you nor Ed have been trained in thermodynamics. I know fully well what zero Kelvin is and that it defines 100% thermodynamic (Carnot) efficiency for engine exhaust temperature, an ideal but unrealistic state. I was using that absurd example in hopes to extract a complete description from Ed in what he looks for when he sprays water on his exhaust manifold. Is it water or a Molson metabolite? Ed's suggestion is one way of checking that the combustion conditions are the same in all cylinders, but they could all be too rich or too lean. There is a big difference between determining that four values are the same opposed to determining if any of them are correct or what is sought. Think, please, before posting waste disinformation. Wow, my first flame response.
