This is the same S2 chassis, the photo are a bit better. I have Mark to thank for sending me the camera. The Sony camera is a bit larger than the old Olympus but its quality is a lot better, at least for now until it goes swimming or something.

Thanks Pissant thats what Ive just done, took me a couple of hours but its in now, My only thought is at the rear, if it goes over the chassis wont the body crush it? Theres a hole in the front of the top chassis member where the diff is hung on the front side and at the moment Ive fed it through there and out over the diff. seems less squashable although more fiddly to do

The body is at about the right height, it was designed that way with a slight interference on some. Just dont put a 60 battery on top of that shelf :D

The original horse hair style separator material between body and chassis that sat on top of the rear cross member had a slot cut in it for the fuel line. I did the same when I replaced it with a closed cell neoprene foam separator.

Rod, I've got S1 26/0429 which arrived in Sydney in early 64, when I stripped it the body had never been off the chassis, see photo chassis as it was stripped with the fuel line disappearing through right side of tunnel then clipped in my case with metal p clip to underside of the bridge in front of tunnel.

Cheers

same routing of line as mine but my S4 had a strip of the felt material across the rear cross member with a slot cut in it for the fuel line

OK Guys you've convinced me, the fuel line does go over the top of the rear chassis, to be honest I hadn't realised there was felt there either so that makes more sense to me.
