Air Filter Casing Placement

Hello everyone,

I was hoping someone with an S3 Elan (or more precisely, an Elan with a radiator overflow bottle) could help me with a photograph of how/where their standard air cleaner casing is placed. My father-in-law and I spent a while scratching our heads but any way we tried the overflow bottle was in the way. My only guess is that the bottle is fixed in the wrong place, but before moving it I thought I ask here.

Any help would be great appreciated.

And while I'm at it, does anyone know if the original equipment reel seat belts are serviceable (mine are seized and very rusty), and/or if replacements are available anywhere.

Best regards,
Adi

Ah, thanks for that! I feel a bit dumb now because I actually did a search through the archives, but I must've typed something wrong as I did not see that thread...

Thanks again Brian.

Re the seat belts, try the Quickfit Safety Belt company in Stanmore which restores or reproduces classic-type belts. Website www dot quickfitsbs dot com forward slash index dot asp. No connection etc but I've heard they are very knowledgeable.

Brian, the photos you posted were exactly what I was hoping for. Thank you.

John, thanks for that. I'll send them a message and see what they say. Although their selection is putting all kinds of ideas in my head. I wonder how sacrilligious to originality it would be to fit a better looking set instead of restoring...
