Airbox backplate seal?

As to the front cover/backplate interface, it's a "rubber" seal much like the seals around the window/cantrail interface on an S2. I got a replacement from JAE, but I'm sure they are readily available from all the usual suspects. OTOH I'm sure that silicon sealant would work just fine. Even just a large bead in the backplate channel would give the front cover something to rest/seal against

I dont know if a gasket was originally fitted between the carb & backplate but I always fit them on both Webers and Dellotos.
