fuel "tee"

I have a brass fuel tee that replaces the original plastic tee on my Zenith Stromberg federal car.

The 1/4" fuel line is slightly larger than the tapered fittings in the carbs. With the hose clamp tight some fuel weeping is experienced.

I replaced the 1/4" I.D. fuel injection hose with 3/16" fuel line hose and it requires a push with slight hose stretching over the carb fittings. Seems to be correct. Unfortunately the "tee" is 1/4" and the hose is streched a bit more than I am comfortable with.

I assume all federal (U.S.) Zenith Stromberg carbs have this "problem".

I need to source a 1/4" x 3/16 x 3/16 brass barb fuel tee. Any suggestions?

Hi Bob
A 1/4. 3/16. 3/16 tee should be available from your local hydraulic supplier
Alternatively get a female tee and screw in the necessary hose tails.

Another option would be to fit a reducer piece just before the tee to change it to the size you want.

E.g get a 3/16 tee and a 1/4-3/16 straight reducer.

A trick I use for changing diameters of hoses is to get an inline fuel filter which usually has two hose sizes each end ( its stepped with a 3/16 barb that increases to a 1/4 barb) and use that as an inline adaptor. Its cheap and gives you extra filtering.

There is little distance between the carb fuel inlets. They are quite long and leave little room between for a tee. I will measure this distance today. I will try to find a 3/16 x 3/16 x 1/4 tee.

Thanks.

Any U.S. listers able to post a picture of their fuel tee on a stromberg feeral +2?

I seem to remember on some of my other cars using Strombergs that I had a similar problem with the distance between carbs being tight.
The tees used were similar to plain tube soldered into a small square boss.
