Hi
Is there any difference from the early airbox to the latest in Weber carburettors?
My s3 has now airfilters carb mounted and I want to bring it back to the original airbox. Originaly my car comes with the early airbox …
What is better? To put the original or swap to the latest air filter? And about the trumpets. My car also should have the long trumpets. Is there any diference putting the shorter?
Cheers

trumpet length aim at tuning via the pressure wave (longer trumpet tend to bring more low end torque, at the expense of some high end power) - but one must make sure the airbox is not restricting the airflow and provides sufficient clearance around each trumpet intake so the the end result is not compromised (esp. check cyl #4 with the early style airbox ).
