SU HIF6's?

Just curious as to what SUs were original equipment on the Elans.

I'm quite sure HS6s were fitted, but were the later HIF6s? Those are the ones with the float bowl underneith, not at the side.

I've got a set of 1 3/4" bore off an old Volvo that I'm about to put on ebay, but figured I should check in about the lotus application first.

SU were never orginally fitted - Strombergs were the factory fitment to the siamesed port heads and Webers and Dellorotos to the non siamesed port heads .

However SU have been a common replacement as lots of people more comfortable tuning them than the Strombergs

Ah yes, thanks. And I don't think strombergs have a good reputation anywhere.
